Tesco and St John’s Ambulance team-up for CPR baby-grow

With the help of Humpty Dumpty and Tesco, St John’s Ambulance has released a creative way to teach parents and guardians of children CPR for babies.

Their baby grow, with child friendly images of the famous accident-prone egg, Humpty Dumpty, alongside lifesaving information on how to provide the required breathes and chest pumps to young infants.

CPR for babies is considerably different to that of adults due to their smaller size and the baby grow ensures that anybody looking after the baby knows the immediate steps to take should the baby stop breathing. Tesco were kind enough to give out the baby grows free of charge on the 13th of October across several of its selected stores, after they and the St John’s Ambulance’s Nursery Inc campaign found that babies stopping breathing was one of parents greatest health concerns for their young – but only 1 in 4 knowing what to do as a result.

In response to what we see as an ingenious way to get the simple CPR message across Cardioproof has invested in buying child friendly pads for all of its placed AEDs across the North East and is committed to ensuring the placement of all future AED’s have these unique child adapters.
